Was diese Regeln sind. Und was nicht. What these rules are. And what they are not.

The 10 Rules are the work of Safer Shorelines, a non-profit association (ZVR 1034596807, Strobl, Austria). They sum up what counts as good practice in water sports worldwide. They are a help, not a law.

The local additions and the five sentences on a partner page come from a conversation with the respective centre. They reflect the experience and house rules of that centre as told to us. Where an addition is marked as “law”, we took it from publicly available sources and state whether it has been confirmed. Until then it says “to be confirmed”.

What we cannot do: Neither Safer Shorelines nor the interviewed centre nor Just Add Safety guarantee that the information is complete, current or sufficient for your situation. Laws, regulations, signage on site and the instructions of supervisors and rescue services always take precedence. On the water you decide for yourself, and you are responsible for yourself and those you take along.

If something is wrong: Write to hello@just-add-safety.com. We correct quickly, and the centre is informed.

Draft, 2026-09-21. To be reviewed by legal counsel. Provisional until then.
